Learning outcome, core skills:

The students familiarize themselves with a topic in the economics of growth and longrun development from the recent literature and are able to summarize the academic discussion of this topic in a short essay (max. 15 pages). Furthermore, students are able to critically discuss ongoing research of this topic and to present their work in class.
