At the end of this course, students will have a clear understanding of: The course starts with an introduction to the methodology of experimental economics, illustrated by a varied range of economic experiments designed to explore individual and group behavior in economic games. It also covers the elicitation of economic preferences and basic statistical techniques for analyzing experimental data. In the second part, participants work in groups. They identify a topic for further experimental investigation, develop a full experimental design, and present it orally in class. A pilot study may also be carried out.
