Fingerlings: brown trout, rainbow trout, char, grayling, and golden trout

Research:
Current research focuses include:
Characterization of 8 rainbow trout strains:
There are many different types of rainbow trout worldwide whose phenotypic and genomic characteristics are being investigated and analyzed. This creates new opportunities and improvements for future breeding programs.
Reintroduction program for grayling:
Historically, grayling was a key species in the rivers and streams of Lower Saxony. However, populations have declined by an average of 90% since the mid-1980s, and the species is now classified in Category 2 of the Red List in Lower Saxony. Through our broodstock populations, valuable genetic resources are preserved and grayling are being reintroduced into rivers.
Duckweed in aquaculture as feed:
Duckweed is known for its valuable nutrients, especially high-quality amino acids, and can serve as an alternative to conventional protein feed. Its production and use as fish feed are currently being researched in Relliehausen.
