Sponsorship association

The impact that life at the Stift has on students is evident in the fact that many former residents and friends of the Stift from all over Germany have joined forces with current students to form an interest group. The “Association of Friends of the Theological College of the University of Göttingen” helps to secure the future of the college financially through its commitment.

„The association “Friends of the Theological College of the University of Göttingen” was founded in 2000. It supports the Theological College through membership fees and any additional voluntary donations from its members. The association serves exclusively and directly tax-privileged charitable purposes within the meaning of §§ 51ff. AO (German Fiscal Code) and belongs to the corporations, associations of persons, and asset pools designated in § 5 (1) No. 9 KStG.

Once a year, members receive a newsletter designed by students about life in the house over the past semesters. The students write articles, report on experiences and projects, and also present public events such as the cultural evening held once a semester (to which all association members are of course personally invited) and the internal retreats. This allows all association members to remain closely connected to life at the residence.
