The role of agriculture in wildfire management of Mediterranean ecosystems
Imagining Resilient Landscapes explores how the public envisions climate-resilient land use in Germany. In an online study, 300 participants will design their own future landscape by selecting and arranging elements such as forests, fields, grassland, farms, livestock, and renewable energy infrastructure.
The resulting images will be analyzed using machine-learning methods to identify recurring landscape types and link them to socio-demographic characteristics, political orientations, and risk perceptions.
The project provides new insights into what citizens view as socially acceptable and desirable pathways for climate adaptation in land use.
